Vertical Machines with Rotary Tables Go Larger
Time: 2008-12-30
Two larger vertical rotary-table machines have been added to the Golden Edition hydraulic series from Arburg Inc., Newington, Conn. At the recent Fakuma show in Germany, Arburg introduced the 166-ton Allrounder 1500 T 1600 Golden Edition and 220-ton Allrounder 1500 T 2000 Golden Edition. They join 88- and 110-ton models introduced last year. The new machines have an electric servo drive on the table for faster rotation and shorter cycles. The Golden Edition, introduced in 2006, has the Selogica Direct controller with new 15-in. color touchscreen and simple graphical menu navigation. Fast-switching valves are mounted close to the functions they control. Servo-controlled, two-pump hydraulics allow overlapping machine movements to save cycle time. Arburg also enhanced its Multilift V Select all-servo robotic systems with a new teach-in programming function, and the robot controls now can be integrated into those of an Allrounder Golden Edition press for the first time. The new teach function allows an operator without a lot of experience to dictate the motion sequence of the robot. A new form of free programming reportedly makes the teach function more flexible.
